Random Thoughts Tuesday

Cute

Loving these brown reading glasses and hope to find a similar pair when I go fill my new prescription.  Turns out my astigmatism has gotten slightly worse :(  The good news is I get to buy a new pair of glasses!

Exciting

I am probably the only one who finds this “exciting”  but this weekend I discovered something about myself that I never thought was possible.  I am an introvert.  I don’t know why that  surprised me.  Maybe because up until this weekend I thought being an introvert meant you are shy.  I took the Quiet Quiz  and below are my results.  I am excited to find out that it is normal to have characteristics of both an introvert and an extrovert and that if you are an introvert it does not mean you are some weirdo hermit type. It simply means I like my “me” time which is totally a true characteristic of my personality.  I get myself so much more now and why I think I am cool but have such nerdy tendencies lol

Your personality profile: I. (I = Introvert. E = Extrovert)
Your Personality Profile:
I = Introvert. If you answered the majority of the questions true, you're probably an introvert. Given the choice, you'll devote your social energy to the people you care about most, preferring a glass of wine with a close friend to a party full of strangers. You think before you speak, and relish solitude. You feel energized when focusing deeply on a subject or activity that really interests you. You have an active inner life, and are at your best when you tap into its riches.
E/I = Ambivert. If you answered the questions evenly, true and false, you're probably an ambivert - meaning that you fall smack in the middle of the introvert-extrovert spectrum. In many ways, ambiverts have the best of both worlds, able to tap into either pole as needed.testtaking 210x300 Quiet Quiz: Are You an Introvert or an Extrovert?
E = Extrovert. If you answered the majority of the questions false, you’re probably an extrovert. You relish social life, and are energized by interacting with friends and strangers alike. You are assertive, go-getting, and able to seize the day. You're great at thinking on your feet, and are relatively comfortable with conflict. You are actively engaged in the world around you, and are at your best when you tap into its energy.
Why does it matter where you fall on the introvert-extrovert spectrum? Because introversion and extroversion are at the heart of human nature. And when you make life choices that are congruent with your temperament, you unleash vast stores of energy.
Conversely, when you spend too much time battling your own nature, the opposite happens—you deplete yourself. Too many people live lives that don't suit them—introverts with frenetic social schedules, extroverts with jobs that require them to sit in front of their computers for hours at a stretch. We all have to do things that don't come naturally—some of the time. But it shouldn't be all the time. It shouldn't even be most of the time.
(Remember, though, that no one is all introvert or all extrovert. Introverts attend wild parties, and extroverts curl up with their favorite books. As the psychologist Carl Jung put it, "There is no such thing as a pure extrovert or a pure introvert. Such a man would be in the lunatic asylum.")

On my wish list

I have a new obsession.  Lush products.  My next Lush purchase will be this vanishing cream moisturizer.  I have extremely sensitive skin that tends to be on the oily side so I usually do not have good luck with moisturizers.  They tend to clog my pores, break me out, or just make me appear more oily.  I think this one is worth a shot.  So far, I have been extremely pleased with everything I have ever purchased from Lush so I am hoping this is does the trick as I realize I have to wear a moisturizer despite my oily woes.

Pure Randomness

There has been a lot of chatter about moms taking a stand against vaccinating their children in the media lately. Celebs like Kristin Calvlari and Jenni McCarthy publicly announced they do not vaccinate their children which created a big buzz around the topic.  Since I am not a mom, I have not done a lot of research on this issue but as someone who believes in trying to heal and protect the body holistically when at all possible, I guess I can see some part of their point of view.  It’s hard to say though when you don’t have children which stance is right or which is wrong.  What is your take on the whole anti vaccination issue?
