Take the time to visualize

Happy Friday!

Let me start with a little reflection from my past work week.

This week, I struggled with negative emotions at work.  Does this happen to you?  Some weeks are just so tough.  You battle constantly with negativity and it alters your mood.  You have to work hard to keep you mind and spirit positive and in check!

Your work environment makes a huge difference in your mood.  I mean, you are in that environment for the majority of all 5 weekdays if you work full-time outside the home.  On days when I am satisfied and happy at work, I feel empowered and fulfilled.  On those days when I would rather be anywhere other than there, it takes a lot of effort to keep my mind focused on the right things.  Are you with me?

So how do I keep it all in perspective?

I take the time to visualize and stay focused on the things that are really important.  My walk with Christ being number one.  I try to find the light and be the light everyday.  It is hard.  Especially for us stubborn ones.  And even more on those days you are mentally and physically exhausted.  It takes effort.  But if you stay focused on Him, he will guide your thoughts and decisions.  He will keep you at peace.

Here is my latest vision board.

Do you guys still make these?  If you are a visual person like me, it really helps to see your goals.  It keeps you focused to accomplish them.  I still write out daily to do lists and goals.  Like using paper and organizers!.  I am super old school when it comes to planning and organization.  I encourage you to make a vision board for your life goals.   Look at it during those times you need that extra bit of encouragement.  During those times you need a visual reminder of what is really important.  Also, run to God's word.  The Mr. has really helped me in this area.  He is ALWAYS reading the word.  That is something I truly admire and respect about him.  I have worked on that a lot so far in 2015 and I encourage you do the same!

You are a hiding place for me; Lord, preserve me from trouble, You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. -Psalm 32:7-8

Until next time friends.

  1. YEP. I feel you on this one. The day in corp that is not going well can really put a damper on your day. Hmmm maybe even your week. One thing I know for sure is we must try to stay focused on what have to do for us. We need to build our own empire! I think that today people try to make you as miserable as they are and also they know that the job market is slim so they feel that they can treat you "Any kind of way". I thank GOD that I am self employed (which is hard at times). But the peace of mind is the best remedy for me at this given time!

The vision keeps us focused on the goals that we have set for ourselves and it also reminds us that we will not have to do this forever (work for the man).

    Continued Blessings!!
