From trash to treasure

Every weekend for the past month and a half or so, I have been working my tail off on something I can't wait to show you!

I love the look of antique/rustic furniture and since I had an old bedroom armoire chest just sitting around in my spare room, I decided to put it to use and try my very first furniture re purposing project!

Here is the before......

And here it is now!

I am really pleased with how it turned out considering during this project I experienced many firsts.  My first time painting furniture.  My first time using chalkpaint.  My first "serious" trips to The Home Depot.  My first time using a power tool.  My first time waxing, sealing, and distressing.  And so on!

If you remember my DIY inspiration post, I posted this armoire chest as inspiration.  I knew I wanted a lighter distressed look with a rustic backing.  I think my vision came to light!

I am really proud of this little creation.  Every time I look at it sitting in my office/craft room I will smile because of the labor my little hands put into it.

I am honestly kind of addicted now and can't wait to transform something else from old to new!

Let me know what you guys think.

See you next time :)
